Texture & Form

The great American photographer Aaron Siskind, well known for his abstract impressionist photography, is one of the masters of capturing texture and form in the things that surround our daily lives. I have drawn inspiration from his work when the occasion has arisen, more often than not when on holiday or when roaming the streets of any city. These details are all around us and they influence our lives without us being aware of them. The crackled paint on a window frame, the piece of string on a sandy beach, road markings, you name it. All wonderful objects upon which my eyes focus and feast. While I have not made a concerted effort to master these details in photos I have a small and growing collection of photographs that stand on their own or combine to become a collection in the fullness of time.

I hope you enjoy this series for what it is, a work in progress of observations through my eyes, perhaps one day a book in the making.
